Questions and Answers
#1 Mike, you say you will build a positive view of Overland. How are you going to do that?
Plain and simple, Overland is viewed pretty negatively in our neighboring communities' and the entire St. Louis region's eyes. There have been several years of negative press coverage that has contributed to this. Additionally, the conduct of Overland's city council during its meetings has given our residents a very bad taste in their mouths. We need to start from the bottom up. We start with stopping TOXIC politics and begin to work together to create an Overland that has a good image. The city council meetings need to be conducted at the highest level of professionalism. We also need to become friendly to those considering opening a business in Overland. What I hear most from potential business owners is how hard Overland makes it to open a business. We need to make this process very user friendly. It may be a cliché but we need to learn how to play nice.
#2 You say you will start a Public Relations Development Board. What the heck is that and why do we need it. Don't we already have enough committees that can't agree on anything?
